JMC’s electric vehicles are here in the PH

JMC Philippines will soon no longer just be a truck-only automaker here, as the automaker has shared teaser photos and a few details of its new JMEV electric vehicles that will be launching soon.

The lineup will comprise two vehicles: the EV2 and EV3 (not related to Kia in any way), two compact electric vehicles that look more suited for the city. While all the teaser photos are of the EV3, a quick Google search reveals that the EV2 and EV3 are very similar to each other in terms of size.

The EV2 (also known as the Xiaoqilin) is a five-door hatchback measuring 3,500mm long, 1,646mm wide, and 1,460mm tall. It has a single front-mounted electric motor putting out 35 horsepower and 84 Nm of torque. The battery size is 15.86kWh, allowing for up to 201km on a single charge.

It rides on 14-inch wheels and features a friendlier fascia compared to the EV3, with a glass rear hatch that is very similar to the first-generation Honda Brio. The interior is fairly basic, featuring fabric upholstery, a nine-inch infotainment system alongside a digital instrument cluster, and rear seats that fold down for more cargo.

Meanwhile, the EV3 is a slightly bigger city car, measuring 3,720mm long, 1,640mm wide, and 1,535mm tall. It has a beefier electric motor capable of pushing out 67 horsepower and 125 Nm of torque, paired with a 30.24kWh LFP battery that can last up to 330km on a single charge.

This has a more aggressive exterior design with 15-inch two-tone alloy wheels, alongside LED lighting. The interior is also more fully-featured, with niceties like a funky two-tone cabin design with fabric seats, up to 1,000L of cargo space, automatic climate control, a 10.1-inch infotainment, and a 360-degree camera with sensors as part of its safety systems.

You can find out more about these two cars at JMC dealerships nationwide.
