Kia sold over 3,700 cars in PH in 2021, sales growth at 78%
2022 has been very rewarding for Kia Philippines, under the distributorship of AC Motors. While the auto industry continues to face challenges due to the ongoing state of the world, the South Korean automaker has some inspiring news to share.
Kia’s substantial growth in the Philippines for 2021 was led by the Stonic, followed by the Soluto, and then the K2500. In total, the brand sold 3,748 units, a 76% increase compared to its sales in the previous year, outpacing the industry’s 18% and is also one of the highest among all car brands available locally.
Kia’s bestseller in the Philippines for 2021, the Stonic B-segment crossover holds 37% of the brand’s total local sales. Despite being small, this news comes big for the brand as this model was only introduced back in October 2020.
The second bestselling model in the brand’s stable is the Soluto subcompact sedan where they sold a total of 21% of the brand’s total. Third is the K2500 commercial utility vehicle that takes up 17% of all Kia’s sold in the country. Its success can be attributed to the growing logistical needs of businesses in the country.
Other than its sales success, Kia Philippines was also able to relaunch itself under the brand’s new corporate logo and brand identity, which should include the remodeling of many of its showrooms to uphold the brand’s philosophy of “Movement that inspires.” The virtual relaunching also saw the launch of the brand’s latest offering, the all-new Sorento midsize SUV.
“Our teams are inspired by our refreshed vision to equip Filipinos with everything they need to move towards a brighter, bolder future,” said Manny Aligada, President of Kia Philippines. “We are confident that our purpose-driven vehicles, partnered with our efforts in improving our dealerships, customer care, and after-sales services, will accelerate Kia Philippines into the next phase of growth in 2022 and beyond.”
2022 surely is another exciting year for Kia in the Philippines. Right now, we’re awaiting the launch of the fourth generation Carnival minivan, set to be held virtually on February 17, 2022.
