While it seemed like ACMobility went all in with BYD and its slew of new vehicles last year, the automotive distributor also had great results with Kia Philippines. In fact, 2024 was nothing short of amazing for them, as it posted record-breaking sales and the highest monthly figures in the brand’s history ever since it was acquired by Ayala back in January 2019.

Total sales amounted to 6,692 units, which showed a 33% year-on-year growth. A total of 805 units were sold in December 2024, a strong figure for just one month of sales for the brand.

Specifically, the Sonet subcompact crossover proved to be its ace up its sleeve— with a total of 3,823 units sold in just seven months. This makes it rank in second for the B-segment SUV category (Toyota Raize, Chery Tiggo 2, etc.) and fourth in the general subcompact crossover segment.

Meanwhile, the automaker introduced electrified offerings last year such as the premium three-row EV9 SUV at last year’s Philippine International Motor Show, which won 2024’s World Electric Vehicle Award and World Car of the Year.

Then, the Kia Carnival Turbo Hybrid that was introduced late last year helped reinforce the brand’s commitment to more forms of electrification.

Customers can expect Kia Philippines to expand its electrified portfolio this year, with the introduction of the Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid very soon. Perhaps we can see other offerings such as the Niro HEV, the EV5 crossover, or even newer EV models such as the EV3?
