Kia’s PV5 is the most futuristic-looking production van yet

Kia continues to utilize drip marketing to hype up its upcoming EV Day. We know the automaker will be unveiling at least three cars there, with the EV4 recently teased in both hatchback and sedan forms. Next up to be teased is the PV5, the first of Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicles (PBV). It will come in two configurations initially: a Passenger van and a Cargo van.

Kia’s Opposites United design language is at play here, delivering a distinctly futuristic design thanks to geometric shapes and sizes all around, down to the fender cladding and rocker panels. At least for the Passenger configuration, it manages to have a large greenhouse area thanks to a low beltline, meaning occupants can enjoy an airy cabin with large windows, and the rear can be accessed via a lift-up tailgate.

Meanwhile, the Cargo configuration does away with all the windows on the sliding doors, but the tailgate doors are split, side-opening, allowing easy access for loading and unloading whatever cargo is needed.

The EV Day will take place in Tarragona, Spain this coming February 24, and it will also unveil specialized conversion options of the PV5 at the event. Like the EV4, full specifications will be revealed on February 27.
