Lexus also affected by Toyota’s instrument cluster recall

A few days ago, we reported that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced a special service campaign, also known as recall, for 3,416 vehicles due to faulty driver’s digital instrument clusters.

Well apparently, the issue also affects the Japanese automaker’s luxury division, as Lexus Philippines has also announced its own recall for the same issue, covering 1,172 vehicles.

Only two Lexus models are affected by this recall: 1,148 units of the LM, produced from July 25, 2023 to April 18, 2025; and 24 units of the LS 500/LS 500h, produced from October 16, 2023 to October 3, 2024.

Just like with Toyota, the affected vehicles’ 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen will repeatedly save unnecessary data due to a programming error which will cause the system’s memory to deplete sooner than expected.

The involved instrument cluster is similar to this one on the Lexus UX 300e.

This will eventually prevent the screen from turning on, and keeping it off, upon starting the vehicle. As such, the vehicle’s speedometer, as well as any important information or warnings will not be visible to the driver, making it unsafe to operate.

Affected owners may simply bring their vehicles to Lexus Manila or their nearest or preferred Lexus-certified Toyota service center to have the entire instrument cluster replaced for free.

Reprogramming software and replacement parts are unavailable at the moment and are expected to be ready by October 2025 at the earliest. You can also check through this link if your vehicle is included in this special service campaign.
