Lexus PH announces recall for 319 vehicles

Affected vehicles may encounter issues with their Adaptive Headlight Beam system.

Lexus Philippines and its parent, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), has announced a recall for a select number of vehicles due to an issue with their headlights as posted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines.

The recall involves a total of 319 vehicles produced in various periods from November 2020 to May 2023. The specific models and production periods are below:

  • Lexus ES – 130 units (produced from November 3, 2021 to May 26, 2023)
  • Lexus LS500/LS500h – 12 units (produced from November 5, 2020 to May 29, 2023
  • Lexus LX600/LX500d – 36 units (produced from December 13, 2021 to May 31, 2023)
  • Lexus RX – 141 units (produced from November 16, 2022 to May 24, 2023)

The affected vehicles are equipped with an Adaptive High Beam System (AHS) LED Headlamp system which due to “cutting oil residue and high temperatures inside the headlamp” may cause the headlight reflector to crack and detach from the motor over time. With this, the AHS function and high beams may become inoperable.

Owners of affected vehicles will be informed by Lexus Philippines and TMP, and are advised to bring their vehicles to Lexus Manila in Bonifacio Global City, or to any Lexus accredited Toyota dealership nationwide. Replacement of the AHS reflector will be done free of charge.
