Maxus G50 launches on August 25
Back in June we reported that the Maxus G50, an MPV that could be set to rival the very popular Toyota Innova will be introduced in the country. Well Maxus Philippines, under the distributorship of AC Motors, the automotive arm of the Ayala Corporation has sent us an invite for a virtual media launch on August 25.
The G50 will be the brand’s fourth model in their local lineup after the G10, V80, and T60. It will also be their first model to be powered by a gasoline powertrain. Earlier this month, Maxus PH announced that the G50 will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It produces 169 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It will also be launched with three variants and all of them will be equipped with automatic transmissions.
No announcement has been made yet with regards to pricing but considering that the Maxus G50 gets a 1.5-liter engine under the hood, it will benefit from the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement just like most other China-sourced vehicles in the country.
