Maxus G50 to be launched in PH

A Toyota Innova fighter?

The Toyota Innova may finally have a direct competitor soon. Maxus Philippines, which is under the distributorship of Ayala-owned AC Motors, has officially announced that they will be introducing the G50 compact MPV to its lineup.

The company plans to bring in the new model in its lineup by the third quarter of 2020. It will be the fourth model in the British brand’s local lineup after the G10, V80, and T60.

Interesting to note that the G50 will be available in a very quirky color. It’s called Roland Purple and should really be a standout and should help it reach people from the younger market.

Compared to other Maxus models, the G50 is designed better for those who want a more car-like and modern vehicle. It is very different from the utilitarian look and feel of the other models. Some standard features in China include LED headlights and taillights, two-tone alloy wheels, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof just to name a few. Hopefully we’ll see such features when it’s launched.

Under the hood are choices of a 1.3 or 1.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder gasoline engine. The former produces 163 hp and 230 Nm of torque while the latter produces 169 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It is not yet known which one the local-spec model will get.

Pricing is also unknown as of now but it should be expected to be priced competitively considering how other Chinese branded and made models are priced in the country. Also given that fact, it should also be specced well and we hope it is.
