Mazda’s all-new CX-5 to launch July 10

Mazda may have gone all-in with its new double-digit CX models, but the ubiquitous CX-5 isn’t being left behind as an all-new generation has been officially teased with an official launch date of July 10.

Alongside that came a few teaser photos that verify the dramatic changes to the vehicle’s design, such as the new double-L DRL-design, with the headlight housing now following the more squared off grille.

In a second photo, the proportions look very similar to the current CX-5, which means that this model won’t be getting any of the new six-cylinder engines that require an elongated bonnet. Instead, new electrified four-cylinder Skyactiv-G engines with the new Skyactiv-Z motor will be introduced in this model, as previously confirmed by the manufacturer.

Finally, the rear shot of the car shows slimmer and larger rear tail lights similar to the brand’s newer models, and we no longer have the traditional Mazda emblem as it’s replaced by the “Mazda” word mark across the back.

We’ll find out more about the future of Mazda’s best-selling crossover in a few days.
