Meet Mazda’s latest EV, the EZ-60/CX-6e

Remember the Mazda Arata concept from last year’s Auto China (held in Beijing)?

This is it. Meet the Mazda EZ-60 (CX-6e for global markets), the latest electric crossover from the brand, but this car’s origins aren’t from Hiroshima, but rather from Chongqing.

Similar to the recently debuted Mazda EZ-6/6e, this was made possible due to the joint venture between Mazda and Changan Auto in China, meaning it has Changan underpinnings similar to the EZ-6/6e.

What was revealed were exterior photos, which showcases the brand’s Kodo design language, but translated to be used in electric vehicles. This means blocked off grilles, flush door handles, cameras for mirrors, and slim lighting elements front and back, plus an illuminated Mazda logo up front with “MAZDA” across the back.

What’s surprising is that the concept car’s dramatic design has remained mostly intact, down to the illuminated “grille” and dramatic flying buttresses by the D-pillars, a front spoiler by the hood, and a slim top spoiler, all presumably in the name of aerodynamic efficiency.

Mazda has not revealed any specifications of the vehicle yet, but its platform-mate will most likely be the Deepal S07 crossover. Final specifications will be revealed this April 23, 2025 at the upcoming Auto China in Shanghai.
