MG PH total sales reach 20,000 units
Four years after coming back to the Philippines under the distributorship of The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), MG Philippines has reached another milestone when it comes to its vehicle sales.
The Chinese-owned British brand opened the last quarter of 2022 with more than 20,000 MG vehicles sold in the country since 2018, 20,888 to be exact. This is a good indication of Filipino’s acceptance for the brand and its current lineup of six different models.
“This 20,888 unit sales milestone happening in only four years from when we first introduced MG Philippines is truly encouraging. TCCCI and MG Philippines share this achievement with our established 42-strong nationwide dealership network partners, our principals at SAIC Motor, Inc., bank partners, our colleagues in the media; and our growing, loyal, and happy MG clients. This accomplishment is the result of all our collective efforts, and we thank everyone for their extraordinary dedication in making MG the fastest growing global brand in the Philippines,” says Atty. This recent accomplishment by MG Philippines’ aligns with MG’s global “Mission 100” strategy, which aims to achieve 1-million MG units sold globally in no less than 100 locations by 2024. The global brand initiative is carried out worldwide by all international MG markets including those in Europe, the Middle East, South America, greater and Southeast Asia, and Australia. “Mission 100” also coincides with MG’s upcoming 100-year anniversary in 2024.
As of this writing, MG Philippines currently markets six models in the country. The lineup is composed of the ZS and ZST subcompact crossover siblings, the RX5 and HS compact crossovers, and the MG 5 and 6 sedans. The most popular continues to be the ZS which was also the brand’s first offering when it was relaunched under TCCCI.
