MIAS 2022: Volvo PH showcases new electrified lineup

Volvo Philippines is definitely pushing for electrification as it introduced and highlighted its new Boost Hybrid range of electrified vehicles at the now concluded 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Composed of the XC60, XC90, and S90, the Scandinavian brand says that their new lineup of vehicles is ready to conquer Philippine roads with its winning package of stunning Scandinavian design, cutting-edge automotive technology, class-leading safety, and masterful craftsmanship.

Before going into detail about each vehicle, all of them are powered by the same new generation T6 powertrain, now known as B6, under the hood. That is a 2.0-liter Inline 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. This produces a combined output of up to 313 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque. This is then mated to an 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission with power sent to all four wheels.

Each model also gets upgraded exterior and interior bits. The XC60 R-Design as its name suggests gets various R-Design bits around such as but not limited to its blacked-out front grille and two-tone alloy wheels. 

Meanwhile, the brand’s flagship SUV, the XC90 now comes in the Inscription trim package, making it more luxurious than before. Finally, the brand’s flagship sedan, the S90, is now available in long wheelbase form, making it a lot more spacious and also more luxurious like the XC90 with the Inscription trim.
