Mitsubishi L300 sales in PH grows 30% in August 2020
Even as vehicle sales in the Philippines are still lower from January to August this year compared to the same time period in 2019, most car companies are still registering continuous growth month by month after the lockdowns placed in many parts of the country and the same goes for Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC).
Despite the implementation of a two week Modified Enhance Community Quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces of Cavite, Laguna and Bulacan last August, the Mitsubishi L300 still showed a strong monthly sales performance of 699 units sold which translates to a 35% increase versus its July retail sales of 517. The rising demand for utility vans may be attributed to the steady recovery of the economy and the growing business for delivery services.
Overall, MMPC capped off the month of August with a total of 2,621 units retaining its 2nd spot in the automotive industry. The Mitsubishi Xpander is the 2nd best-selling model with a 620 unit sales followed by the Mitsubishi Strada with 564.
“We at Mitsubishi Motors Philippine Corporation are optimistic that the economy will continue to improve in the succeeding months. We are geared to provide better offerings to the market to support their vehicle needs during these trying times. For the Mirage G4 and L300 which both are proudly Filipino-made, we rolled back its prices as far as 7 years to make it more affordable to the market.” – said by Mr. Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, President and CEO of MMPC.
Currently, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation is offering the Rollback promo which reduces the price of the Mirage G4 GLX MT to just Php 528,000 and the Mitsubishi L300 (cab and chassis only) to Php 698,000.
Now the bestseller of the company for August, the Mitsubishi L300 was reintroduced in the market in 2019 after a two year absence. Upon launch, it came equipped with a new and more powerful Euro-4 compliant turbodiesel powertrain and minor design updates.
