Mitsubishi Thailand spices up the Xpander HEV and Xpander Cross HEV with Play editions

Manufacturers often throw in special editions to reignite consumer interest in a specific model, whether it was freshly launched or an aging nameplate. Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has done something rather interesting to its pair of Xpander HEV twins by introducing the Play editions.

First off, these are based on the Xpander HEV and Xpander Cross HEV, meaning a 1.6-liter four-cylinder DOHC MIVEC gasoline engine and electric motor and generator with 116 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque are carried over.

Both variants come with black accents on the grille, roof, wheels, and mirror, alongside clear smoked taillights. The Xpander HEV Play comes either in White Diamond or Graphite Gray and has an aggressive-looking body kit with blue accents that you can actually buy locally.

On the other hand, the changes on the Xpander Cross HEV Play are much more subtle, with a body-colored dynamic shield grille, and the option to get it in Green Bronze Metallic alongside White Diamond and Graphite Gray.

Granted these may just be special editions for the Xpander and Xpander Cross HEV, but should these models make it to our shores, do you think Mitsubishi Motors Philippines should have a Play edition as well?
