More than 10,000 BYDs sold in PH since ACMobility takeover in 2023

It’s been a little over two years since BYD Cars Philippines was formed under the Ayala Corporation’s ACMobility subsidiary, formerly known as AC Motors.
Things have been really good for the BYD brand in that short span of time, selling over 10,000 units in the country, quickly surpassing many rival automotive brands, and even other established ones.
This feat was announced by BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca at the recent launch of the BYD Tang DM-i, the Chinese automaker’s 12th model in its Philippine lineup, and fourth plug-in hybrid offering.

We’re not sure of the exact numbers, but the company can attribute the high sales numbers are probably thanks to the brand’s most popular Sealion 6 DM-i. In 2024 alone, the compact crossover saw a total of 2,669 units sold from July to December.
The full-electric Atto 3 was also able to gain the title of the country’s best-selling fully electric vehicle with 1,062 units sold in 2024 as well.
Now we don’t know what exact numbers BYD Cars Philippines has so far for this year as they have not announced any exact figures, but one thing is for sure, they are doing really really well.
