CONFIRMED: Honda Cars PH to launch refreshed City on July 13
Last week we reported that Honda Car Philippines (HCPI) is launching a new model this coming July 13. Well it’s confirmed! The Japanese automaker is going to be introducing the refreshed version of its entry into the popular subcompact sedan segment.
HCPI announced in a press release the launch of the updated Honda City which comes with various changes inside and out. Not only that, it also gets a new variant and comes with Honda SENSING as standard.
While in terms of design it is largely similar to the pre-refresh version, it does get some new stuff like a sportier front grille, new front and rear bumpers, and new alloy wheel designs. It also gets an updated infotainment system with wireless phone connectivity. Exact specifications and features per variant have not yet been revealed.
Unsurprisingly, the 2024 Honda City remains powered by the same 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine that produces a best-in-class 121 horsepower, and 145 Nm of torque, paired to an Earth Dreams CVT.
What does get a huge upgrade is safety as all 2024 Honda City variants, including the new entry-level 1.5 E CVT now come standard with Honda SENSING. This gives all of them Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Auto High Beams, and Lead Car Departure Notification.
Details may not be complete yet but HCPI has also announced pricing for the 2024 Honda City and they haven’t increased that much. They are as follows:
1.5 E CVT Honda SENSING – Php 975,000 (new)
1.5 S CVT Honda SENSING – Php 999,000 (+Php 46,000)
1.5 V CVT Honda SENSING – Php 1,075,000 (+Php 42,000)
1.5 RS CVT Honda SENSING – Php 1,130,000 (+Php 37,000)
Again, the refreshed Honda City will launch on July 13, 2023 which means we won’t have to wait too long to find out all its specifications and features, new or old.
Also, HCPI will be holding a display with the refreshed model at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall from July 13-16, 2023. Reservations are also already accepted by Honda dealerships nationwide with the reservation fee of Php 5,000 waived until July 12, 2023.
