Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid now available in PH for Php 1.350M

More on more electrified vehicles, whether full, partially, or somewhat, have made it into the Philippine market. With that, Chery Auto Philippines, under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), surely does not want to be left behind, being among the first brands to introduce electrified vehicles in recent years, locally.

Left behind they won’t be with the introduction of an electrified version of their Tiggo 7 Pro compact crossover. Dubbed as the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid, this was previewed at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) in April and comes with a mild-hybrid powertrain under the hood.

Powering the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid, unlike what its name suggests, is a mild-hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a 48-volt belt integrated starter generator (ISG). Total output is 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, an increase of 11 hp and 20 Nm compared to the standard version. It is still also mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

This mild-hybrid powertrain allows the Tiggo 7 Pro to get features such as automatic start & stop which shuts off the engine when stopped in traffic while keeping all electronics on, energy recovery which regenerates energy during coasting or braking, and better fuel efficiency.

In terms of design, unlike what we saw in China last April that had a new grille, full wraparound taillights, and a new interior, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid for the local market is largely similar to the standard version with only a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels and new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Other standard features remain such as multi-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, wireless phone charging, and a 360-degree around view monitor.

The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid goes for a suggested retail price of Php 1,350,000. In the meantime though, Chery Auto Philippines is offering it for an introductory price of Php 1,250,000, making it among the most affordable electrified crossovers you can get in the country today.
