DRIVE PINAS: Nissan PH and DOT renew partnership
Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) is continuing with its push to promote tourism in the country as it renews its partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) with a Memorandum of Agreement or MOA.
This partnership has bore fruit to the new Drive Pinas program which is the product of a long-standing relationship between Nissan Philippines and the DOT under a unified vision to promote local tourism and to showcase scenic tourist spots across the country.
With the utilization of Nissan vehicles through driveable journeys, Drive Pinas aims to make traveling a more exciting, inclusive, and sustainable experience for both locals and tourists alike.
Representing Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco at the MOA signing event held at Okada Manila was DOT Undersecretary Myra Paz-Abubakar who expressed gratitude to Nissan Philippines for their unwavering partnership and commitment towards attaining the shared goal of showcasing the breathtaking beauty of the Philippines to the world.
“Our nation is brimming with hidden gems, places that have yet to be fully explored and experienced. Drive Pinas will shine a spotlight on these extraordinary locations, enabling travelers to uncover their magic, immerse themselves in local culture, and forge unforgettable memories,” Secretary Frasco said in a speech delivered by Undersecretary Paz-Abubakar at the MOA signing event.
NPI President Juan Manuel Hoyos also shared his excitement over the new partnership with the DOT, saying that “While the Department of Tourism already has a strong vision to make locals and tourists alike love the Philippines even more—like I do—Nissan supports this vision with our commitment to creating innovative vehicles and technologies to add excitement to these journeys, all while leaving a positive impact on society and environment.”
For the past eight years, NPI and the DOT have collaborated on many projects together such as ‘Visit the Philippines’, ‘Drive to Discover with Nissan’ campaign, and more recently, the ‘Safe Trips’ campaign which aimed to promote local destinations and boost domestic travel even amid the pandemic.
