1st batch of Chery Tiggo 5X Pro arrive in PH
Are you looking forward to the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro? Well you won’t have to wait too long as the initial batch of units of the electrified subcompact crossover has already arrived in the country.
A delivery ceremony was recently held by Chery International for the first batch of Tiggo 5X Pro units, specifically the Hybrid variant, coming into the Philippines from China. This comes ahead of its official launch this coming July 27, 2023.
The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro is the latest vehicle to join the Chinese automaker’s local lineup, being the facelifted version of their Tiggo 5X subcompact crossover. It made its first local appearance during the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), with more details announced and an electrified mild hybrid powertrain announced and previewed during the 2023 edition of the motor show.
Setting it apart from the current Tiggo 5X is the brand’s signature Diamond Galaxy front grille, new alloy wheels, and updated headlights and taillights. Inside, the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro gets a completely new interior with a dashboard that seems to be a more compact version of those found in the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro.
Powering the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro is mainly a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, paired with a 48-V electric motor. This allows the engine to produce slightly more power and torque, as well as reduce emissions by 14%, and reduce fuel consumption by 13%. This mild hybrid powertrain combination produces 160 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.
Pricing for the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro has already been announced, starting at Php 940,000 for the non-hybrid variant, and Php 1,140,000 for the Hybrid.
