Prices for the Geely GX3 Pro in PH will start at Php 778K, launching on August 8
Compared to other Chinese car brands in the country, things seem to have been quite silent over at Geely Philippines. The Chinese automaker, distributed locally by Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation (SGAP), has not introduced a new model in over a year unlike what they promised back when they launched in 2019 where they would launch a new model every six (6) months.
That’s about to change though as the company is now gearing up for the launch of their latest and most affordable crossover model, the GX3 Pro subcompact SUV, and we have the prices.
Initially previewed at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), the Geely GX3 Pro will slot below the very popular Coolray, and will compete directly with the likes of the Toyota Raize and Chery Tiggo 2 Pro. According to our source, it will be available in two variants which will be priced as follows:
- GX3 Pro S M/T – Php 778,000
- GX3 Pro Comfort CVT – Php 878,000
At that price point, it is directly within the range of its rivals, if not slightly more affordable or expensive. For reference, the Toyota Raize’s prices start at Php 751,000 and top-out at Php 1,051,000. On the other hand, the Chery Tiggo 2 Pro’s lone variant is priced at Php 840,000. Finally, the Kia Stonic’s prices start at Php 835,000 and top-out at Php 990,000.
We don’t have exact details yet but looking at its exterior, the GX3 Pro already wears the corporate Geely face with its signature front grille with vertical slats. The car itself is a bit larger than the Toyota Raize, measuring at 4,005 mm long, 1,760 mm wide, and 1,560 mm tall. The interior on the other hand follows a similar design with the Emgrand B-segment sedan, looking visibly more premium than its competition.
Once launched, possible standard equipment would include projector halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital climate controls, and PVC seat material.
Likely to power the Geely GX3 Pro is a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated 4G15 gasoline engine that produces 102 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The Geely GX3 Pro is set to be officially launched in the Philippines this coming August 8.
