2024 Toyota Yaris Cross: Full Specifications and Pricing

The all-new Toyota Yaris Cross has just been recently launched in the country as the latest crossover to join the local Toyota lineup. It’s also the newest model to join their electrified lineup of hybrid models.

Built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture which it shares with the Toyota Avanza and Veloz, Toyota Raize, and upcoming all-new Vios, the Toyota Yaris Cross we get in the Philippines is different from what markets like Japan and Europe. Anyway, here’s everything you need to know about the local-spec Yaris Cross.

Variants and Colors

First, the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross is available in three variants starting from the entry-level 1.5 G CVT, followed by the mid-grade 1.5 V CVT, and topped-off with the 1.5 S HEV CVT.

Exterior color options are as follows:

  • Platinum White Pearl Mica with black roof (1.5 S HEV)
  • Scarlet SE with black roof (1.5 S HEV, 1.5 V CVT)
  • Dark Turquoise SE with black roof (1.5 S HEV)
  • Platinum White Pearl Mica (1.5 V CVT)
  • Greenish Gun Metal (1.5 V CVT, 1.5 G CVT)
  • Dark Turquoise SE (1.5 V CVT)
  • Scarlet SE (1.5 G CVT)

It’s also good to note that Dark Turquoise SE is a Philippine market exclusive color option and is not available, at least for now, in other markets.

Standard Equipment

Standard exterior equipment starting from the base 1.5 G CVT are full LED headlights, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), LED Fog Lights, LED Taillights, power-folding side mirrors, a piano black front grille, rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels, and roof rails. Getting the 1.5 V CVT and S HEV CVT adds autofold side mirrors, power tailgate with kick sensor, and 18-inch alloy wheels; while exclusive to the latter is a panoramic sunroof.

As for interior equipment, standard staring from the base 1.5 G CVT are fabric seats, soft touch dashboard panel with blue accent, digital instrument cluster, push button start, single zone automatic climate control, rear aircon vents, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speaker audio system, and wireless phone charger.

Getting the 1.5 V CVT and S HEV CVT add synthetic leather seats and 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat. Meanwhile, exclusive to the former are paddle shifters, and exclusive to the latter is a 6-speaker Pioneer premium sound system.

Powertrains

Under the hood of the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross are two powertrain options. The first is a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder 2NR-VE gasoline engine with dual VVT-i. This produces 106 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The second powertrain option is available on the top-spec S variant. It’s still a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine with dual VVT-i but paired with a lithium-ion battery, and this time called the 2NR-VEX. The gasoline engine alone produces 91 horsepower and 121 Nm of torque. Combined, it produces a total output of 111 horsepower. It’s also still mated to a CVT.

Safety

In terms of safety, all variants get dual front airbags, side airbags, side curtain airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic braking system, brake assist, vehicle stability control, and hill-start assist control. 1.5 V CVT and S HEV CVT adds blindspot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, as well as a 360-degree panoramic view monitor.

The V and S variants also come standard with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS). This suite of advanced driver-assistance systems gives the Yaris Cross a Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beams, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Pricing

Pricing for the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross starts at Php 1,199,000 for the base 1.5 G CVT variant. The 1.5 V CVT variant is priced at Php 1,296,000 with an additional Php 10,000 for the two-tone exterior color. Finally, the top-spec 1.5 S HEV CVT is priced at Php 1,598,000.

And that’s everything you need to know about the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross. What do you think? Is it worth choosing over say, the Nissan Kicks e-POWER? One thing’s for sure though, it will be a hit.
