BYD PH set to open flagship dealership along Quezon Avenue
Just a few days fresh from announcing its transfer of management, now to the Ayala Corporation’s automotive subsidiary, AC Motors, BYD Philippines announces its newest and upcoming dealership facility.
To be operated by the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer’s former local distributor, Solar Transport and Automotive Resources, Inc. (STAR), BYD Quezon Avenue is set to become the brand’s flagship dealership facility in the country once it becomes operational before the end of this month.
BYD Quezon Avenue will be a 4,000 sqm facility with two storeys, a full-service aftersales facility, and a showroom that can showcase all fully-electric models in BYD Philippines’ lineup. In addition to this new facility, STAR will continue to operate its present dealership along Gil Puyat Avenue (Buendia) in Makati City.
“With BYD’s stronger presence in the Philippines, we hope to contribute to helping build the EV infrastructure in the country, so that more roads will be greener and more motorists transition to rely less on fossil fuels.” said Mr. Mark Andrew Tieng, President and CEO of STAR. “BYD consistently draws in exceptional individuals eager to push boundaries and defy conventions. We extend a warm welcome to Jaime and his team as they join us in our endeavor to pave the way for cleaner and greener roads. Exciting times ahead!”
STAR is one of the pioneers of EV distribution in the Philippines since it brought-in the BYD brand in 2013. Since then, among the models it offered are the Dolphin, Han, and Tang EVs. While the company will now be a dealer after the recent AC Motors takeover, it will continue to serve as the authorized distributor of BYD material handling equipment across the country.
Aside from the current BYD dealership in Makati City and the upcoming BYD Quezon Avenue, more dealership plans are in the works for BYD Philippines and STAR.
