Omoda 5 EV to get 8-year 200,000 km warranty in PH

We’re getting closer and closer to the official launch of the Omoda brand here in the Philippines, set to happen in the 4th quarter of this year. If you’ve become interested in the brand thanks to their numerous teasers and announcements on what we can expect from their models, well here’s something that might just make you want their cars even more.

O&J Philippines, an official subsidiary of Chery International and Omoda and Jaecoo in China announced in a release that their EV offering, the Omoda 5 EV, will come with an 8-year or 200,000 kilometer warranty, whichever comes first.

That warranty is not only for specific parts of the vehicle, but for the whole vehicle in general, including its EV battery which may be one of the costliest parts to replace. With this as one of the longest warranties in the industry, Omoda 5 EV owners will surely have more peace of mind.

O&J Philippines also highlighted some things about the 5 EV’s electric motor system such as its low energy consumption of 15 kWh for every 100 kilometers, and its driving range of 450 kilometers. Fast charging also allows users to charge the EV battery up to 80% in just 35 minutes.

Not only that, the Omoda 5 EV has achieved a five star safety rating partly thanks to its high strength steel body architecture. In addition, its advanced driver-assist system (ADAS) features 17 different functions which should provide more safety not only for the vehicle’s users but also those around it.

Again, the Omoda 5 EV is expected to launch in the country together with the Omoda and Jaecoo brands by the 4th quarter of this year.
