More powerful 2024 Toyota Hilux GR-S previewed in PH, priced at Php 2.166M

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has given visitors at the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup Leg 2 a surprise. Previewed at the event is the updated version of the Hilux GR Sport (GR-S) which gets a handful of performance and design upgrades.
The refreshed Toyota Hilux GR-S was first revealed for the Australian market in January this year and it won’t be long before sales officially start in the market.

In terms of looks, the 2024 Toyota Hilux GR-S is more muscular and rugged compared to the pre refresh version. It gets a larger front grille with TOYOTA spelled-out, more angular bumpers, larger overfenders, and a metal front skid plate. It also gets 17-inch Dakar-inspired alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.

Its suspension has also been upgraded with KYB monotube shock absorbers which offer stiffer coils, precise dampening and effective heat dissipation for improved handling.

Inside, the 2024 Toyota Hilux GR-S remains similar to other Hilux variants. Features include suede and leather wrapped seats with GR badging, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and paddle shifters.

Under the hood of the 2024 Toyota Hilux GR-S is an upgraded version of the tried-and-tested 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV Inline 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine. It now produces 224 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This makes it the most powerful midsize pickup truck available in the Philippines.
In terms of safety, the 2024 Toyota Hilux GR-S gets the full suite of Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), giving it a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It also gets a Panoramic View Monitor.
Pricing for the 2024 Toyota Hilux GR Sport starts at Php 2,166,000. An additional Php 20,000 is added for the Emotional Red and two-tone color options. Retail sales will start soon.
