PH-spec Mazda3 receives upgrades, starts at Php 1.510M

After quietly introducing updated versions of its two oldest and smallest models, Mazda Philippines, under the distributorship of Bermaz Auto Philippines, Inc. (BAP), isn’t just done yet.

The company has announced the availability of the 2024 Mazda3 which gets a handful of upgrades in the technology, convenience, and safety departments.

For starters, the variants have been somewhat renamed with the entry-level version of both sedan and fastback body styles still called the Sport, while the M-Hybrid variants are now called HEV. Their 18-inch wheels get new color finishes—silver for the sedan and black metallic for the Fastback. The Sport also now gets LED daytime running lights.

Inside, the 2024 Mazda3 now gets a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system for Mazda Connect. Like before, it features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. New chrome accents have also been added to the vehicles push start button ring, steering wheel horn pad, and glove box handle.

Under the hood, the 2024 Mazda3 remains powered by two different powertrain options. The Sport variants get a 2.0-liter Inline 4-cylinder Skyactiv-G gasoline engine that produces 155 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the HEV variants get a 2.0-liter Inline 4-cylinder e-Skyactiv-G gasoline engine paired with a 24-volt compact integrated electric motor and 0.216 kWh lithium-ion battery. Combined, it produces a total of 164 horsepower and 213 Nm of torque, also mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission

Safety is also improved with Front Cross Traffic Alert, Front Cross Brake Support, Rear Cross Brake Support, and Driver Monitoring System added to the standard suite of Mazda’s i-Activsense driver-assist tech features. The Sport variants also get an Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS) where the headlights will point towards the direction of the steering wheel for better nighttime visibility, and the addition of blindspot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.

Pricing has been only slightly increased compared to the previous version with the 2024 Mazda3 Sport in sedan and fastback body styles now retailing for Php 1,510,000. Meanwhile, the 2024 Mazda3 HEV in sedan and fastback body styles now retail for Php 1,790,000.
