Changan Auto PH officially launched under Inchcape Philippines
Inchcape Philippines has ended the month of September with the introduction of the newest brand under its local automotive portfolio. To be known as Changan Auto Philippines, the Chinese automaker officially joins brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram, among others under the multi-brand distributor.
Changan Auto is one of the top 4 automotive brands in China and is also one of the pioneers of the Chinese automotive industry, with the company being present for over 160 years.
The Changan brand first entered the Philippine market in 2019 selling light commercial vehicles under the distributorship of Berjaya Auto Asia. It changed hands for the first time in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, being taken over by Changan Motor Philippines, Inc., led by the same people as Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc., the previous distributor of Hyundai passenger cars and current distributor of their commercial vehicles. This also marked the introduction of Changan passenger vehicles in the market. And that brings us to today.
The new Changan Auto Philippines is retaining most of the previously offered vehicles from the previous distributor. These are the Alsvin subcompact sedan, the CS35 Plus and CS55 Plus from the brand’s CS line of crossovers, and the Uni-T and Uni-K from their premium Uni line.
And with a new era ushered in, new to the lineup is the X7 Plus midsize 3-row crossover. That’s not all though as the company has also previewed the all-electric S7 which it says will officially be made available by next year.
