Toyota Innova in PH gets new XE variant for Php 1.375M
Just when you thought Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is done with the Innova, having launched its newer generation version–the Zenix as a separate model, a couple months back, they’re not. For starters, you probably know that they still produce and sell the previous generation, codenamed the AN140, in the country.
With that, there’s a new development with the Toyota Innova in the form of a new and more affordable automatic transmission variant. TMP has quietly introduced a new 2.8 XE A/T variant to the broad list of Innova variants available locally.
So, what sets this variant apart from the others?
Well for starters, the Innova XE is a combination of the entry-level Innova J and mid-grade E variants. It rides on the J’s 16-inch steel wheels with hubcaps (wheel covers), gets halogen headlights, and a matte silver finish on the front grille. Something the XE loses compared to higher variants are the LED fog lights. Meanwhile, its interior gets fabric seats, and still comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Now, compared to the J, the XE gets the addition of a Blackish Red Mica exterior color option on top of the three other color options which remain the same. Those are Silver Metallic 1, Black 1, and Red Mica Metallic. All four colors are the same as those on the E variant.
Under the hood, the Innova XE also gets the same 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV Inline 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine with the same tuning as all other variants that come with the 6-speed automatic transmission, making 174 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque.
The new Toyota Innova 2.8 XE A/T is priced at Php 1,375,000 or Php 154,000 less than the 2.8 E A/T which was previously the most affordable Innova with an automatic transmission. That will surely catch the hearts of those looking for an affordable but larger MPV.
