Ford Philippines continues to sustain its strong retail performance from last year as it experienced more growth over the past nine months this year.
The blue oval brand’s local sales rose by 42% compared to the previous year with 23,091 units sold in the Philippines. The month of September 2023 also saw their highest monthly sales number since May 2020 with 3,391 units sold.
This year’s sales are led by the Ford Ranger midsize pickup truck which experienced a 22% increase in sales from a year ago, with 9,113 units finding homes. The Ranger also re-claimed its title as the bestselling 4×4 pickup truck in the Philippines, besting its rivals with 4,396 4×4 Rangers sold, for a 38% market share.
The Ford Territory continues to be a sales leader as well in the compact SUV segment where it has cornered 46% of the market. Sales grew by 8% with 6,955 units sold.
Meanwhile, the Ranger-based Ford Everest midsize SUV is also enjoying good sales numbers, taking the second place spot in the segment with 6,693 units sold, a huge 255% increase compared to the previous year. In September, Ford sold 1,254 units of the Everest, making it the top-selling model in the segment, even beating the Toyota Fortuner which has always led the segment.
“These milestones are a testament to our commitment to continue bringing our segment-leading vehicles and after-sales offerings to our customers,” says Ford Philippines Managing Director Mike Breen. “We thank our growing community of customers, enthusiasts and fans for their support to the Ford brand and our dealers for their solid partnership to improve the Ford ownership experience.
