The GWM Tank 300 is now officially available in PH for Php 2.678M
A few months after previewing its newest additions to their local lineup, Great Wall Motor (GWM) Philippines, under the distributorship of Luxuriant Automotive Group, Inc. has officially launched, albeit quietly, the Tank 300 midsize off-road SUV.
The Tank 300 is GWM’s answer to the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota FJ Cruiser, as the brand’s off-road midsize SUV, revealed at the 2020 Chengdu Auto Show and built under the Tank sub-brand. It is based on the Cannon pickup truck’s platform and chassis.
It wears rugged styling through its boxy proportions and heavy use of straight lines and circles, as well as chunky wheel arches. Unlike most SUVs these days, the rear still features a tailgate mounted spare tire. Its interior on the other hand appears to be very upmarket with its large screens and fancy turbine-like air vents.
Full specifications for our market are not yet available although we do know that it gets full LED exterior lighting, Nappa leather seats, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Infinity premium audio system, and an electronic gear selector, among others.
Powering the 2024 GWM Tank 300 is a 2.0-liter Inline 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 220 horsepower and 387 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, with power sent to all four wheels.
Being an off-road SUV, it has to be capable. It is equipped with front and rear differential locks, crawl control, all-terrain mode selector, and Tank (turn) assist. It has a ground clearance of 224 mm, while its water wading capacity is rated at 700 mm.
In terms of safety, it is equipped with a full suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) which is composed of adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, autonomous emergency braking, forward and rear collision warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The 2024 GWM Tank 300 is available in one variant only, priced at Php 2,678,000. Deliveries will start early next year.
