Blacked-out: Ford PH introduces Territory Sport for Php 1.625M

Chrome out, black in! That’s what Ford Philippines is doing to their very popular Territory compact crossover as they showed us at the sidelines of the 23rd Henry Ford Awards its new Sport variant.

The Territory Sport is the new top-spec variant of the top-selling crossover, sitting above and based on the Titanium X variant which will now be the model’s middle grade. It gets various cosmetic changes to make it look…sportier.

On the outside, the Ford Territory Sport gets a high-gloss black finish for the front bumper garnish, side mirrors, door trim, roof, and roof rails. The 19-inch alloy wheels are also painted in Ebony Black and the “TERRITORY” badge on the tailgate is also blacked-out.

Changes are not limited to the exterior as the interior gets a unique two-tone black and ivory color scheme matched with Cyber Orange accents. Faux wood and piano black trim on the Titanium X has also been replaced with faux carbon fiber trim. The headliner and pillars are also now finished in Charcoal Black.

One new feature that the Territory Sport gets that is worth mentioning is Remote Engine Start which allows you to start the vehicle and its airconditioning system via the keyfob from outside the vehicle. Also, it will come in three colors—Panther Black, Crystal Pearl White, and Lustrous Gray.

Other standard equipment remains similar such as full LED exterior lighting, a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, dual 12.3-inch screens, rotary gear selector, and various advanced driver-assist safety systems, among others.

While some people will expect this to drive sportier as well, there are no mechanical changes under the hood. The Ford Territory Sport gets the same 1.5-liter EcoBoost Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine that makes 160 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Ford Territory Sport is priced at Php 1,625,000 or just Php 26,000 more than the Titanium X. Customers who purchase during the month of May 2024 will also get a free five-year scheduled service plan (SSP or free PMS), and five-year emergency roadside assistance.
