Honda Cars PH opens reservations for refreshed City Hatchback

A few months ago, Honda revealed the refreshed version of the City Hatchback in Thailand. We obviously wondered how long we’ll have to wait and now we know that it won’t be that much longer.

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has just announced that reservations are now open for the updated version of its B-segment hatchback. It gets minor exterior and interior changes and additional safety features, as a sequel to the updates given to its sedan sibling last year.

For starters, it gets new bumper designs and a larger front grille. It also gets the same new 16-inch alloy wheels as the sedan. A new exterior color option, Sonic Gray Pearl, is now available as well.

Other available exterior color options are Platinum White Pearl, Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic.

The interior of the updated Honda City Hatchback remains largely unchanged.

HCPI has not mentioned what changes we’ll be seeing on the local spec City Hatchback’s interior but looking at the one from Thailand, it should have a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster display with an analog speedometer, electronic parking brake with brake hold. Confirmed though is an updated 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood of the refreshed Honda City Hatchback in Thailand is a 1.0-liter Inline 3-cylinder VTEC turbo gasoline engine that makes 122 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque. Another option there is a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder paired to a dual electric motor hybrid system with a combined output of 124 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque.

As for the Philippines, we are still highly likely to get the same 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine that produces 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, mated to an Earth Dreams CVT

Also confirmed for the local City Hatchback is the Honda SENSING suite of advanced driver-assist systems composed of Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning, and Lead Car Departure Notification.

Pricing has not yet been announced but we can expect the refreshed Honda City Hatchback to be priced just slightly higher than the outgoing version’s suggested retail price of Php 1.153-million.

Again, reservations have been opened for the refreshed Honda City Hatchback. HCPI is also waiving the reservation fee of Php 5,000 from today until June 13, 2024.

UPDATE: Honda Cars Philippines has announced that the updated City Hatchback will be priced at around Php 1,194,000.
