General Tire returns to PH under new distributor
Looking for a new set of tires for your SUV, perhaps something that can be used for overlanding and off-road adventures? Well you now have more options to choose from.
General Tire makes a Philippine comeback, now under YHI Philippines, Inc., a multi-brand distributor of various automotive products. The tire brand held its relaunch at the sidelines of the 2024 Trans Sport Show which is currently ongoing at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
“It will be our mission to carry on the brand’s legacy. We are looking forward to growing General Tire’s market share with the initial lineup of products, as we anticipate additional tire models in the future. The brand’s advancement is guided by our strong drive to market new sizes and patterns that will cater to a larger audience in the local SUV and 4×4 scene,” said YHI Philippines General Manager James Delloso.
General Tire is best known for its SUV and pickup truck tires which are designed for different types of terrain or condition depending on the model. There’s the Grabber HT6 for on-road use, the Grabber AT6 for both on-road and off-road use, the Grabber AT/x for more extreme off-roading and overlanding, and the Grabber X3 for the most extreme muddy, wet, and rocky conditions.
With this relaunch, the General Tire brand will be available at select tire dealers—Wheel Gallery, Gears, Tri-J Marketing in Cebu, and Power Point Enterprises Cagayan De Oro.
“General Tires stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence. It has a brand history of more than 100 years, with diverse success stories proven in the US. It is our honor to bring this distinguished brand into the Philippines as a part of our important tire portfolio”, said YHI International, Ltd. Senior Manager for International Business Development Jimmy He.
