Here’s VinFast’s initial model lineup for PH market

The VinFast brand has officially made its Philippine debut.

Hailing from our ASEAN neighbor Vietnam, the company is entering the market with a diverse all-electric vehicle (EV) lineup consisting of four crossovers, six motorcycles, and a bicycle

Since you’re reading this, you’re probably curious about each one of them so we’ve gathered all the information we could get about them right here:

The VinFast VF e34 is the brand’s first-ever full EV.

VF e34

Let’s start with the VinFast VF e34, the brand’s entry-level offering and a subcompact crossover. This was also their first ever fully-electric model to be ever produced. Its electric motor produces 150 horsepower and 242 Nm of torque, with an estimated driving range of 318.6 kilometers.

Among its standard features are LED headlights and daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch driver info display, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, cruise control, and a 360-degree around-view monitor.

VF 5

The VinFast VF 5 is the brand’s smallest crossover.

The second subcompact crossover in the lineup is the VinFast VF 5 which is also their smallest offering. This one’s electric motor makes 136 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque with an estimated driving range of 326 kilometers.

It looks basic but futuristic.

When it comes to standard equipment, this is a little bit more basic compared to the VF e34 with halogen projector headlights, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a reverse camera.

Other features include 17-inch alloy wheels, blind spot detection, a 7-inch driver info display, and rear parking sensors.

VF 7

This VinFast VF 7 is our favorite.

Moving on to the larger offerings, let’s start off with the VinFast VF 7 compact crossover. This comes in two variants which are the S and Plus

The former gets a single electric motor making 177 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque with an estimated driving range of 375 kilometers, while the latter gets a dual electric motor and AWD drivetrain making 354 horsepower and 500 Nm with an estimated range of 431 kilometers.

There is a comprehensive standard feature list for this EV.

Features include LED exterior lighting, heated side mirrors, a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, heads-up display, and leather seats. The Plus gets additions of a power tailgate, panoramic sunroof, ventilated driver’s seat, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and centering assist, and front collision warning, among others.

VF 9

Currently the brand’s flagship model is the VinFast VF 9 three-row crossover which is available in 7-seater Base and 7- or 6-seater Plus variants. It is powered by a dual electric motor system with 204 horsepower each, and has up to 602 kilometers of estimated range.

Standard features include 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, soft close doors, power tailgage with kick sensor, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, USB-C ports, wireless device charger, ambient lighting, and a 360-degree around-view monitor. It also gets various advanced driver-assist systems as standard.

This is also notably the only full EV with a third row of seats available in our market as of this writing.

Electric Motorcycles and Bicycle

VinFast also makes two-wheeled electric vehicles.

VinFast Philippines is also considering the introduction of its e-scooter and e-bike lineup by showcasing the Evo 200, Feliz S, Klara S, Theon, and Vento S electric scooters, as well as the VF DrgnFly electric bicycle. 

Official information on these two-wheeled machines is not yet available but we’ll be sure to update this article once we receive them from VinFast Philippines. For now, check out their photos below.

Pricing and Warranty

Pricing is not yet available for the VinFast Philippines lineup but they did mention that their first dealerships will open before the end of June 2024, signaling the start of local retail sales with customer deliveries set for the third quarter of this year.

In terms of aftersales, customers will be able to enjoy a warranty of between seven to 10 years on VinFast vehicles. A battery subscription policy will also be offered where customers can get a free battery replacement and maintenance program if the battery capacity falls below 70%.

If you’re curious about these VinFast electric vehicles and already want to see or experience them in-person, the entire lineup is available on display and for test drive at the SM Mall of Asia this weekend (May 31 to June 2, 2024).
