2nd-gen MG 3, MG G50 to launch in PH on June 4
MG Philippines is set to expand its lineup with the launch of not just one, but two new models—the MG 3 small hatchback and G50 MPV, coming into the market this June 4.
Both these models were already previewed for our market during the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) last April, and even had public test drives available at the recent Auto Focus Summer Test Drive Festival. They’ll be launched this coming June 4.
The MG 3’s launch will mark the nameplate’s return to the local small hatchback segment after it was sold briefly by the brand’s first local distributor years ago. And while we know most of its specifications and variants already, MG Philippines has also confirmed that a segment-first full hybrid variant will be coming as well at launch.
As for the MG G50 (to be known as G50 Plus), this also marks the return of the nameplate albeit no longer under the Maxus brand which left the country recently. Information on this is still scarce but MG says that it will have an eight-seater capacity, will provide “great fuel efficiency,” and “also comes with advanced features.”
“We at MG Philippines are excited to continue introducing the most exciting options for our Filipino motorists and car enthusiasts, so we’re really looking forward to fully unveiling the new MG3 and G50 Plus very, very soon,” said MG Philippines President Felix Jiang.
Complete details and specifications for the MG 3 and G50 will be revealed once they’re officially launched in the country. We don’t have to wait too long as it is just a few days away.
