PH-spec MG ZS finally updated, price now starts at Php 918K
Years after it was first revealed in China in 2019, updates to the popular MG ZS subcompact crossover have finally trickled-down to the rest of the lineup.
It will be remembered that the Chinese-British automaker’s previous distributor introduced the updated ZS as the top-spec ZST. Changes were only limited to that while buyers of the lower variants had to contend with the older version.
As already seen on the ZST, the 2024 MG ZS receives a mix of sleeker and more elegant and aggressive design cues. In front is an Obsidian Matrix front grille and redesigned LED headlights with snake-light LED DRLs. These are matched with new LED taillights at the back, and 17-inch Tomahawk design alloy wheels.
Available exterior colors are Extreme Speed Red, Laser Blue, Electro-optic Orange, Blade Silver, Meteorite Black, and Moon White.
The interior is also pretty much what we’ve already seen on the ZST such as its 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Tech has also been improved with the inclusion of an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, and cornering lights. The Lux variant also includes a 360-degree camera system.
Under the hood of the refreshed MG ZS remains the same 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated gasoline engine that produces 115 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque, now mated to a CVT with eight simulated gears in manual mode. Yes, the 4-speed automatic has been replaced.
The updated MG ZS is available in two variants: 1.5 Comfort CVT and 1.5 Lux CVT. The former is priced at Php 918,888 and the latter at Php 1,088,888.
At the same time, the pre-refresh MG ZS is still available at dealerships with pricing of Php 848,888 for the 1.5 Style M/T, Php 898,888 for the 1.5 Style A/T and Php 1,048,888 for the Alpha A/T.
“The MG ZS is our certified bestseller among Filipino motorists, which is why we are making the best even better with the New ZS. We hope that those who have yet to experience MG’s best compact SUV on the market today get to find out the reason for themselves when they try the New ZS,” said MG Philippines President Felix Jiang.
