GAC Motor PH sales grow by 172% in 1H 2024, to launch six new models
Continuing its growth streak in the local market, GAC Motor Philippines, under the distributorship of Astara Philippines, announced at their recent midyear dealer conference another record performance for the Chinese automaker.
“Our GAC Motor Philippines team has shown unstoppable momentum as we continue to achieve new milestones and break new ground across the country. We are immensely grateful for the warm support of new customers and are eager to deliver the outstanding mobility solutions that GAC Motor offers to even more Filipinos,” said GAC Motor Philippines Brand Head Franz Decloedt.
For the first half of 2024, the company saw a record 172% increase in sales compared to the same period last year.
In total, 1,702 units were sold from January to June 2024, 351 of which were for the month of June alone. Leading the brand’s sales is the GAC GS3 Emzoom subcompact crossover which accounts for 64% of all units sold.
This also makes GAC Motor Philippines the 12th strongest automaker, and third among Chinese brands, in terms of market share for the first half of 2024, based on statistics released by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).
With that, GAC Motor Philippines also announced that it will be introducing six new models over the course of the next six months. We have no idea what these will be right now but we’ll probably have a separate write-up for that.
In addition, the company also signed with dealer groups for eight new dealerships which will be located in Angeles City, Bonifacio Global City, Taytay (Rizal), Calamba, Cebu, Dasmariñas, Quezon Avenue (Quezon City), Sta. Rosa (Laguna), Valenzuela, and Batangas.
