Toyota Motor PH reveals specs, pricing for all-new Land Cruiser Prado
The all-new 250-series Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has finally arrived in the Philippines!
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially revealed all the specifications, features, and price of one of their most-awaited models to enter the market.
Codenamed the J250, the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is built on the same architecture as the third generation Lexus GX which was revealed last year, and recently introduced locally. Like its luxury counterpart, it rides on the TNGA-F Platform which also underpins the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Lexus LX.
For 2025, the local-spec Toyota Land Cruiser Prado can only be had in one variant—the 2.4 Turbo A/T, which is priced at Php 4,800,000.
In terms of design, the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado goes for a retro-modern look with its more rugged and squared-off shape, taking inspiration from the iconic past versions of the Land Cruiser nameplate. The local-spec version gets a different front grille with vertical slats, inspired by the previous generation. Unlike foreign market versions, it also gets body-colored panels around instead of plastic cladding, for a more road-going appearance.
Standard exterior equipment include full LED headlights and taillights, front and rear fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, rain-sensing wipers, 20-inch alloy wheels, power-folding mirrors with heating, running boards, roof rails, power tailgate with kick sensor, and a power sunroof.
Exterior color options are limited to Avant Garde Bronze, Platinum White Pearl Mica, and Attitude Black Mica.
Inside, it finally has been brought to the 2020’s with a much more modern design while still maintaining its retro-inspired theme. It features a two-tiered layout with large screens, and improved materials. Round side air vents, the aforementioned two-tiered layout, and the deep placement of its digital instrument cluster into the dashboard emphasize the vehicle’s inspiration to Land Cruisers of the past.
Standard interior equipment include leather seats, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, four-way power adjust front passenger’s seat, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10-speaker audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
Under the hood, the sole powertrain option for the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a 2.4-liter T24A-FTS Inline 4-cylinder DOHC turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 281 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system.
For safety, the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado also gets the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite of advanced driver-assist systems. Here it is composed of Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beams, Lane Keeping System with Lane Departure Alert, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. It also gets Blind Spot Monitor and Panoramic View Monitor.
Again, the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is priced at Php 4,800,000. Hopefully it sticks to that range considering how dealers and resellers put exorbitant markups for high-demand but low-supply models like this.
