Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid officially arrives in PH for Php 3.330M SRP

When the current generation Hyundai Santa Fe was launched earlier this year, Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) also announced the arrival of a variant with a hybrid powertrain under the hood by the second quarter of the year. Well, it got delayed slightly but it’s finally here!

Launched alongside the refreshed Hyundai Tucson today at the Hyundai Mobility Experience (HME) at the Alabang Town Center, the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid now sits on top of the local lineup of the midsize crossover. This is now how the lineup looks like, as well as their prices:

  • 2.5 GLS 2WD A/T – Php 2,410,000
  • 2.5 GLS AWD A/T – Php 2,540,000
  • 2.5 Turbo Calligraphy AWD A/T – Php 3,100,000
  • 1.6 Turbo Hybrid AWD A/T – Php 3,330,000

Anyway, powering the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid is a 1.6-liter Smartstream-G turbocharged gasoline engine, paired with a 47.71 kW electric motor and 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery. This produces a combined total output of 235 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This is also shared with the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid.

With the hybrid powertrain comes Hyundai’s e-Dynamic Drive. This is composed of e-DTVC which is the brand’s torque vectoring for better handling and driving safety, e-Handling for better steering response and turning stability, and e-Traction for more dynamic driving sensitivity.

It also features e-Comfort Drive for less vehicle shaking when crossing speed humps and during vehicle acceleration, for a smoother and more comfortable drive. As with any hybrid, it also comes with Smart Regenerative Braking to recharge the battery using the vehicle’s kinetic energy when slowing down.

Being the new top-spec variant for the Santa Fe line, the Hybrid has similar standard equipment as the top-spec 2.5T Calligraphy AWD variant. This includes full LED exterior lighting, Premium Relaxation Seats for front occupants, and nappa leather seat material, among others.

It does get a unique set of blacked-out 20-inch alloy wheels as well as power-adjustable second row captain chairs.

The infotainment system and driver’s instrument cluster have also been updated to show information relevant to the vehicle’s hybrid system such as electric motor usage and efficiency displays.

Like other Santa Fe variants, it also comes standard with the Hyundai Smartsense suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. This is composed of Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot View Monitor, Manual Speed Limit Assist, Rear Occupant Alert, 360-degree Surround View Monitor, and Parking Distance Warning.
