Facelifted 2025 Hyundai Tucson arrives in PH with new hybrid variant, pricing now starts at Php 1.680M
A few months ago, Hyundai revealed the refreshed Tucson compact crossover for the North American market. It gets a handful of changes on the outside as well as huge changes inside, and it’s coming to the Philippines very soon.
Previewed today at the Hyundai Mobility Experience (HME) event at the Alabang Town Center, changes to the Hyundai Tucson aren’t limited to its design as Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has also added something that should make this more competitive against its main rivals such as the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.
What exactly? Well the biggest change for the Hyundai Tucson can be found under the hood as you can now get it with a hybrid powertrain that you can also find in its larger Santa Fe midsize crossover sibling which was launched simultaneously. You can read about that model here.
Anyway, that’s a 1.6-liter Smartstream-G turbocharged gasoline engine, paired with a 47.71 kW electric motor and 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery. Like in its larger sibling, it produces a combined total output of 235 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The gasoline and turbodiesel engines, making 156 horsepower and 192 Nm, and 186 horsepower and 416 Nm, respectively, continue to power the lower variants.
Now when it comes to design, the 2025 Tucson retains Hyundai’s signature Parametric Dynamics design language but with revamped details such as a bolder and more rectangular shape for the front grille mixed with more angular lines, together with the Parametric Jewel daytime running lights. The bumpers have also been revised to give the vehicle a wider stance, and new alloy wheel designs are present.
Like before, available exterior colors are White Cream, Phantom Black, Shimmering Silver Metallic, Deep Sea, and Amazon Gray. New colors have also been added to the lineup–Pine Green Matte and Cashmere Bronze.
Another bulk of changes can be found on the inside where it gets a completely revamped dashboard, taking cues from their other recent products such as the Kona and Sonata, and the IONIQ 5 and 6 EVs. Straight lines now dominate the dashboard with wraparound-style air vents, as well as the large dual-screen setup housed in a single panel, giving a more modern appearance.
Storage space has also been improved with a large spot on the dashboard itself, as well as underneath the floating center console. You’ll also notice that Hyundai has given it a column-mounted gear selector, taking away the former push-button type selector which drew mixed reactions from users.
Among its new equipment are a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a panoramic sunroof.
Safety also takes a huge step up as the introduction of the Tucson Hybrid also marks the availability of the Hyundai Smartsense suite of advanced driver-assist systems on the local-spec Tucson.
This means it now gets Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, a Blind Spot View Monitor, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor. As before, it also gets Manual Speed Limit Assist, and Parking Distance Warning.
With this update and the availability of the new hybrid powertrain, the 2025 Hyundai Tucson lineup for the Philippine market now looks like this:
- 2.0 GLS 2WD A/T – Php 1,680,000
- 2.0 CRDi GLS+ A/T – Php 1,980,000
- 1.6 Hybrid A/T – Php 2,290,000
HMPH is now accepting reservations for the 2025 Hyundai Tucson.
