Typhoon Carina: These brands are helping out owners of flood-damaged vehicles

The recent Typhoon Carina (international name: Gaemi) may not have touched land in our country, but its effects were certainly felt with severe flooding caused by enhanced monsoon rains, specifically on the island of Luzon.

Among the casualties of flooding are vehicles. It surely hurts to see your own car or motorcycle, paid for with hard-earned money, simply be gone or heavily damaged by floodwaters.

With that, a couple of brands are lending a helping hand to assist owners of flood-damaged vehicles from the recent flooding, and we’ve listed them right here:

Chery Auto Philippines

Chery Auto Philippines is offering discounts on vehicle parts and repair and assistance for insurance claim processing.

(UPDATE: As of August 14, 2024; Wednesday)

Chery Auto Philippines is now offering a 30% discount on flood-related vehicle repairs. This offer is valid at all Chery Auto dealerships nationwide until November 30, 2024.

Foton Motor Philippines

Like Chery Auto Philippines, Foton Motor Philippines is also offering discounts on vehicle parts and repair and assistance for insurance claim processing.

Honda Cars Philippines

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has announced its Honda Helps program where a 30% discount will be offered for select spare parts for vehicles affected by flooding. The offer will be available at authorized HCPI dealerships and service centers until September 30, 2024.

Ford Philippines

Ford Philippines will be offering owners a 20% discount on parts, and a 10% discount on labor costs for repairs of flooded Ford vehicles. This offer is available at all Ford dealerships in Luzon only until August 31, 2024.

Hyundai Motor Philippines

Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) is introducing the Flooded Vehicle Assistance Program. Here, owners of flood-damaged Hyundai vehicles (10 years and newer only) can avail of free towing services to the nearest Hyundai dealership (within 25 km radius) where their vehicles will be inspected for free.

BYD Cars Philippines

Meanwhile, BYD Cars Philippines is not offering any assistance to owners of flood-damaged vehicles but is instead directly helping victims of the effects of the typhoon. The company has committed to donate USD 100 for every BYD Sealion 6 sold in the country starting from July 6, 2024 until December 2024

MG Philippines

MG Philippines has announced that select vehicle parts that are related to flood damage will be available with discounts of up to 30% for MG vehicle owners. This can be availed at any authorized MG dealership nationwide until September 30, 2024.

Suzuki Philippines

Suzuki Philippines is extending assistance to owners of flood-damaged Suzuki vehicles by offering a 30% discount on the following parts: Engine Control Module (ECM), ABS Control Module, Body Control Module (BCM), and SRS Control Unit. A 10% discount on labor costs is also part of the assistance. In addition, technical parts not mentioned above (except consumable parts) that were affected by flood can also be covered upon evaluation and approval.

Isuzu Philippines

Isuzu Philippines has announced their Typhoon Assistance Program where they will offer owners of flood-damaged Isuzu vehicles a 30% discount on the select parts. This includes engine parts, transmission parts, drivetrain parts, electrical parts (including bulbs and cluster meters), engine control module (ECM), transmission control module (TCM), and collision parts (body panels and doors). The offer is available at participating Isuzu dealerships and service centers in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Luzon areas from August 10 to 31, 2024.

That’s all for now, but we’ll be updating the list once more brands announce any assistance that they will be offering.
