The Mitsubishi Xforce gains five-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP

The Mitsubishi Xforce need not force us to think it’s safe, because the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP) says so as it announces that the fairly new subcompact crossover has received a perfect five-stars.

The Japanese automaker’s newest subcompact crossover was the second model to be tested and rated by the ASEAN NCAP in its 2024 vehicle safety assessment year.

It scored a total of 79.15 points based on four categories from their 2021-2025 protocol. The score breakdown per category is as follows:

  • Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): 34.89 points
  • Child Occupant Protection (COP): 17.03 points
  • Safety Assist (SA): 14.85 points
  • Motorcyclist Safety (MS): 12.39 points

ASEAN NCAP is thrilled that the SUV has successfully achieved 5-Star ratings in all of the assessed categories during its recent assessment. Mitsubishi has indeed l poured their commitment by ensuring that the model provides the necessary protection to both the occupants and other road users. With the 5-Star rating under its belt, ASEAN NCAP is proud that Mitsubishi has joined in our aspiration to ensure safe mobility for all,” read their press release.

Here in the Philippines, the Mitsubishi Xforce features various standard safety equipment such as four airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, and a seatbelt reminder for all passengers, among others. The top-grade GT variant is also equipped with driver-assistance features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, and front collision warning.
