Nissan PH celebrates 1st anniversary of Nissan Kicks e-POWER Club with an eco-drive
You know a car is doing good in a market when it has a strong following and when owners come together. That’s exactly what the Nissan Kicks has with the Nissan Kicks e-POWER Club of the Philippines.
In celebration of its first anniversary, the club of Nissan Kicks e-POWER owners, together with Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) went on a drive from Metro Manila to Clark, Pampanga, around 90 kilometers north of the nation’s capital.
The group for the drive, composed of 63 Kicks e-POWER owners, also conducted a fuel economy challenge to see who among them would have the best fuel economy from the meet-up location at the Nissan North EDSA dealership, with a refueling pit-stop at the a gas station along the North Luzon Expressway in Marilao, Bulacan, and all the way to Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort.
Taking the top spot in the challenge with a fuel economy reading of 28.1 km/l is club member Plaridel Arvin Ramos. He was followed by club founding member and president Derrick Tan Uy and club member Marc Ernest Manasan who were tied in second place with an overall reading of 27.7 km/l. Lastly, club members Charly Untalan and Jel Directo were tied at third place, each getting a 27.5 km/l reading.
It’s good to note that NPI claims a conservative 22 km/l for the Nissan Kicks e-POWER’s fuel economy. Our actual testing also returned 25.7 km/l in mixed conditions.

“We are grateful to Nissan Philippines Inc. for turning this Eco Run into a reality. This event is a big milestone for everyone, and we couldn’t have accomplished it without their help. The route consisted of both highway and city driving to make for a more realistic daily driving scenario and the scores achieved exceeded our expectations. We were also able to educate fellow members on how to drive their Kicks efficiently while still keeping the fun factor of driving one,” says Derrick Tan Uy, President of the Nissan Kicks e-POWER Club of the Philippines.
It’s not all about the fuel economy challenge though as to cap off the drive, NPI along with the founding members of the club visited Duyan ni Maria Children’s Home in nearby Mabalacat City, and donated pairs of athletic shoes to the organization. Participants were then treated to a special performance from the Duyan ni Maria Children’s Choir.
“Today is more than just a celebration of a remarkable vehicle. It’s a celebration of a collective vision for a more sustainable and electrifying future on our roads. I congratulate the Kicks e-POWER Club of the Philippines on their first anniversary and I hope to see many more of these events led by our passionate club members,” said NPI President Juan Manuel Hoyos.
