Honda EM1 e: electric scooter launched in PH for Php 155K

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) is going with electrification as it introduces its first fully-electric offering in the local market—the Honda EM1 e: scooter. Based on the Honda U-Go from China, it was unveiled at the EICMA 2022 in Milan, Italy as the brand’s first electric motorcycle. “EM” stands for “electric moped.”

Powering the Honda EM1 e: is an electric motor with a removable 50.3V lithium-ion battery. This produces 2.31 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque. It can drive up to 30 kilometers on a single charge (48 km on Econ mode).

The removable and swappable battery has charge times of six hours from 0 to 100%, or 160 minutes from 25 to 75% and weighs just 10.2 kg.

Design-wise, the Honda EM1 e: looks like any other scooter in the market. It measures at 1,790mm long, 680mm wide, and 1,080mm tall, with a 1,300mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is 135mm and the bike itself has a kerb weight of 83 kilograms.

Among its standard features are full LED lighting with LED daytime running lights; an LCD display screen showing the trip computer, speedometer, and battery charge level; and a leather cushioned seat.

Its seat is 740mm high and has 26 liters storage space underneath. It rides on 12-inch wheels with disc brakes in front and 10-inch wheels with drum brakes at the rear.

The Honda EM1 e: is priced at Php 155,400. You can also purchase an extra Honda Mobile Power Pack e: for Php 42,500, and a Honda Power Pack e: for Php 18,000, both as spare parts. Available colors are Pearl Sunbeam White and Digital Silver Metallic.
