PIMS 2024 | All-new Nissan Patrol, Z NISMO, X-Trail e-POWER, Magnite to make an appearance?

It seems like Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) has quite the show planned for the upcoming 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) which is happening on October 24-27.

The Japanese automaker has posted a teaser showing silhouettes of four vehicles that they’ll be presenting at the PIMS. After a little fun (or stressful) game of matching the shadow silhouettes to see what they are, we already have our guesses which you can see below:

The silhouettes match these models.

From left to right, the silhouettes perfectly match the X-Trail e-POWER, the Z NISMO, the recently unveiled all-new Patrol, and Magnite.

The X-Trail e-POWER is probably the most long overdue vehicle here, with the nameplate having been absent from the brand’s local lineup for a couple of years now. Launching it here would make a lot of sense as it would directly compete with the Honda CR-V e:HEV which is gaining a foothold in the segment, and the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

Powering the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER, at least in its AWD e-4ORCE guise, is a 1.5-liter Inline 3-cylinder gasoline engine that makes 144 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. That acts as a generator to charge the front and rear electric motors that produce 240 horsepower and 330 Nm, and 136 horsepower and 195 Nm, respectively.

The Z Nismo is the high-performance version of the Z.

Next is the Z Nismo. We say Nismo because we already have the standard Z in our market. Given that the previous 370Z was available with a higher-performance Nismo, it definitely makes sense.

Setting the Z Nismo apart from the regular Z are upgrades to its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine which now produces 420 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. Those are increases of 20 hp and 46 Nm compared to the regular Z. It is exclusively mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

It also gets additional exterior enhancements which aid in the additional suspension and other performance tweaks that they have done. You can read about it here.

Moving on to the largest vehicle here, we have the all-new Patrol. Known as the Y63, this was revealed very recently for the Middle Eastern markets and is completely redesigned inside and out, and mechanically with a bolder and sleeker exterior design, while the interior has an increased amount of technology and premium touches.

Under the hood is a new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine which is shared with its more luxurious Infiniti QX80 sibling. Here it produces 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, also mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The last model could be the Nissan Magnite.

Last but not the least is the Nissan Magnite. This tiny subcompact crossover sits below the Kicks in the brand’s hierarchy and is designed for emerging markets. Right now, it is available in right-hand drive markets only but maybe Nissan is planning to start exporting to left-hand drive countries like ours.

Powering the Nissan Magnite is a 1.0-liter HRA0DET turbocharged Inline 3-cylinder engine that produces 100 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT.

Given that the Philippines is one of Nissan’s strongest performing markets in the region, it would make sense to see these models make their regional debut here. As these are all guesses though, it is still best to take them with a grain of salt.

Regardless, the Nissan booth at the 9th Philippine International Motor Show will surely be exciting.
