The cute fully-electric JAC Ytterby launches in PH this week, price to start at Php 1.195M
After a preview at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, the fully-electric JAC Ytterby subcompact hatchback is all set for its Philippine launch with availability starting this September 27, 2024.
Known as the Yiwei 3 in the brand’s home market of China, the Ytterby will be their first fully-electric offering in our market. It will compete with models such as the GWM Ora 03 and the BYD Dolphin.
At launch, the JAC Ytterby will come in two variants. Here they are and their prices:
- Ytterby Air 405 – Php 1,195,000
- Ytterby Air 505 – Php 1,320,000
The Air 405 gets a single electric motor that produces a maximum output of 95 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque. Paired with a 41 kWh battery pack, it has an estimated driving range of 405 kilometers on a single charge.
Meanwhile, the Air 505 brings the maximum outputs up to 136 horsepower and 175 Nm, paired with a larger 51.5 kWh battery that allows it to drive for up to an estimated 505 kilometers on a single charge.
With a DC fast charger, it takes an estimated 30 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 90%, while using the provided 7 kW AC charger will replenish the battery from zero to full in an estimated seven to nine hours.
Looking at its exterior, the Ytterby wears what JAC Motors calls Bubbles Aesthetic Design. This gives it a cute overall look with its round Angel Eyes headlights and soft body lines. It then rides on what they call petal wheels which come in a tri-color finish.
It will also come in Beige, Purple, Blue, White, and Gray exterior colors, all matched with a black roof and pillars.
Features have not been confirmed but a quick look at the local JAC Motors website already shows some of them. Among the features we can expect are LED headlights, leather seats, a 6.2-inch LCD instrument display, 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system (12.8-inches in the Air 405) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others.
The Air 505 is also equipped with a suite of advanced driver-assist features composed of blind spot detection, cross traffic warning, lane departure warning, front collision warning, lane keep assistance, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking, just to name a few.
“A good car is born on a great platform. JAC is proud to set a new benchmark with this vehicle. We’ve combined an intelligent cabin, powerful 9-in-1 powertrain, and class-leading safety features to deliver a unique and delightful driving experience. And yet, this comes to the market providing spec-for-spec great value, always giving mind to what the customer deserves. It’s a statement of what’s possible when innovation meets responsibility,” said JAC Motor Philippines Brand Head Tonette Lee.
Again, JAC Motors Philippines will officially begin sales of the Ytterby on September 27, 2024. Do you think this new and very cute EV can capture the hearts of the market?
