Even the most popular workhorse vehicle in the Philippines is not spared from recalls. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) announced that they will be recalling select units of the very popular L300 due to an issue in its transmission.

The reason behind this recall is owners may experience hard gear shifting if the transmission is not filled with oil. A total of 411 units which were manufactured this year (2024) are affected by this recall. As of this writing, only one unit has been reported to have a failure due to the issue.

Owners may bring their affected units to their nearest or preferred Mitsubishi Motors dealership where if the transmission is not properly lubricated, the transmission’s propeller shaft and snap pin will be replaced. If properly lubricated upon inspection, the oil inspection cap will simply be tightened with a filler plug and a new gasket.

The process is estimated to take approximately four hours and will be conducted at no cost to the customer.

The authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealers who sold affected units will reach out to customers. Customers are also encouraged to contact MMPC’s customer care hotline at (+632) 250-8888.
