Mazda PH extends HEV battery warranty to five years

Mazda Philippines is making further improvements to the customer experience as they extend the warranty of high-voltage lithium-ion batteries installed in their HEV (mild-hybrid) range.

Now at five years instead of just three years, this will give additional peace of mind to owners of Mazda 3, CX-30, CX-60, and CX-90 e-Skyactiv G models and variants. This is also not just for future owners but also those who already purchased their vehicles starting in October 2021.

The warranty extension of the hybrid battery from 3 to 5 years underscores our dedication to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. It reinforces our commitment to providing premium quality hybrid technology and exceptional customer services,” says Mazda Philippines President Steven Tan. “Owners of these models will now benefit from comprehensive coverage for their hybrid battery systems, ensuring added peace of mind.”

This warranty extension comes on top of what Mazda owners already get in the form of their existing three-year or 100,000 kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty, whichever comes first, and a five-year free service plan.

Mazda’s HEV system is composed of 24-volt (3 and CX-30) or 48-volt (CX-60 and CX-90) lithium-ion batteries that are paired with their Skyactiv engines. It also has its own dedicated Power Control Module (PCM) which ensures that the battery is constantly monitored and protected.

The system also reduces tailpipe emissions and allows owners to save on fuel costs with the internal combustion engine switching off at low speeds or at idle.
