Hyundai Motor PH appoints new president

Two years after its establishment, Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) announces the appointment of its new president. Taking over the reins from outgoing HMPH President Dongwook Lee is Jiho Son.

Under the leadership of Lee, HMPH entered the market as a full subsidiary of the Hyundai Motor Group. The company took over operations from previous Hyundai distributor Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) in June 2022.

The Korean automaker was also able to expand its local lineup with the recent launches of the Tucson and Santa Fe Hybrid variants, among other new model launches. Their dealer network was also expanded with 34 dealerships in the country as of this writing, and more to come this year.

Prior to his appointment to the Philippines, Son served as the Head of the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) Sales Innovation Group. Before that, he also led the India and Asia-Pacific Sales Support Team.

The brand looks forward to continuing its commitment to innovating the car ownership experience and providing mobility solutions for all Filipinos nationwide,” said the company’s statement.
