PIMS 2024 | Nissan X-Trail previewed, is it closer to a PH comeback?

If there’s one vehicle that we’ve always said is missing in the Philippines, it’s the Nissan X-Trail.

Well it looks like it may soon make a comeback as Nissan Philippines has just previewed the compact crossover at the 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS)

The current fourth generation X-Trail made its global debut in 2021. What Nissan Philippines has brought to the PIMS is pretty much what came out then with its V-Motion front grille, split headlights, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, can expect it to have a 12.3-inch NissanConnect touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 9-speaker Bose premium audio system, and Nappa leather seat upholstery.

And if we were to compare it with its rivals—the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, Nissan will probably bring the X-Trail with their e-POWER system under the hood to make it more competitive.

This combines a 1.5-liter KR15DDT Inline 3-cylinder VC-Turbo gasoline engine that makes 144 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. That acts as a generator to charge the BM46 electric motor that drives the front wheels and produces 213 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. An e-4ORCE (AWD) version adds a rear electric motor (MM48) that makes 136 horsepower and 195 Nm.

We don’t know when Nissan Philippines plans to launch the X-Trail here. All we can say is, they’re missing out.
