ACMobility activates new U.P. Town Center EV Charging Hub
EV and PHEV owners in Quezon City will now have more options for charging their vehicles’ batteries as ACMobility inaugurates its newest EV charging station at the U.P. Town Center shopping mall.
Built in partnership with Meralco, the new charging station within the mall complex is accessible to universities such as the University of the Philippines (U.P), Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU), and Miriam College (MC), making it a high foot traffic area.
It features six vehicle slots with five chargers—two each of 7 kW and 22 kW AC chargers, and one 120 kW DC fast charger. It can cater to a wide variety of EVs from privately-owned ones to public-utility vehicles (PUVs) such as e-jeepneys.
A mural by U.P. Professor Toym Iyao and his stydents from the U.P. College of Fine Arts also adorns the charging hub. Embodying the battle cry of “charging forward,” ACMobility says that this centerpiece captures both the spirit of progress and innovation while celebrating Katipunan Avenue’s vibrant stories and history through vibrant colors and dynamic imagery that not only reflect the energy and diversity of the area, but also highlight the station’s features such as the advanced and eco-friendly technology, and the seamless, user-friendly experience of the charging hub.
“We are thrilled to deepen our commitment to sustainability by expanding our network in a pivotal location like U.P. Town Center, which serves as a bustling hub for many Filipinos—from students, professionals, and the commuting public—right at the heart of Quezon City,” said ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala. “With the growing adoption of electric vehicles in the Philippines, we aim to make EV charging more accessible and convenient for everyone. This station is another milestone in our mission to scale the country’s charging infrastructure, helping to accelerate the transition to cleaner and greener mobility options.”
The U.P. Town Center Charging Hub is part of ACMobility’s plans to establish over 200 charging points in approximately 100 locations around the country by the end of this year.
